"Why does this rug feel so nice?" a client recently asked us. They had us source and order a series of moderately priced indoor/outdoor rugs for use in their dachshund frequented spaces. Feet, paws, claws...and maybe even a little teeth here and there might find their way onto these pieces, so durability, cleanability, and replaceability were all high priorities along with the requisite appropriate color and style. When the items were placed they were shocked by how nice they felt. The secret? We always use high quality pads underneath all of our rugs. For most situations our preference is 100% recycled wool felt.
